Make the quotes comparable
The useful budget is the amount needed to get a working dishwasher into your kitchen. Ask each seller to separate the appliance, delivery, connection parts, installation, old-appliance removal and applicable taxes. A bundled offer can be attractive, but only if it includes the work your home actually needs.
Rather than publish a price that may belong to a different seller or expired promotion, we recommend collecting current quotes for two or three exact models. Keep finish, handle, warranty and included kit consistent.
Budget for the format
A countertop model can avoid a permanent cabinet installation but still needs a suitable counter, outlet and drainage route. A panel-ready model adds the cost of a furniture panel and fitting it correctly. An unexpectedly low cabinet opening may narrow your options.
If a budget threshold is firm, tell the installer before selecting the appliance. A simpler model with a straightforward installation may fit the total budget better than a discounted premium machine that needs changes to plumbing or cabinetry.
Separate running cost from purchase cost
The yellow EnergyGuide label provides a standardised comparison, not a promise about your utility bill. Your cycle choices, rates and frequency change the result. Our running-cost calculator lets you enter those assumptions explicitly.
Detergent, rinse aid, cleaning products and potential repairs are additional ownership costs. An extended service plan deserves its own review: ask about exclusions, deductibles, service availability and who provides the repair. Do not count its full advertised value as an automatic saving.
Make the final trade-off
Pay first for fit, usable racks and features you will use. Then decide what better drying or lower declared noise is worth to you. A large premium for an occasional app feature is harder to justify than a loading improvement you notice after every meal.
