A useful comparison pair
Our Bosch SHP78CM5N and LG LDPH7972S assessments provide a practical starting point. Both are feature-rich built-in candidates, but their drying and wash systems differ. We do not declare a whole brand the winner from two models.
The Bosch 500 SHP65DM5N is also worth including if you want a more balanced feature package. A cross-brand comparison should include the offers you would actually buy, not automatically place each brand’s most expensive machine against the other.
Separate manufacturer features from testing
Bosch CrystalDry and LG Dynamic Dry are different systems with different product claims. LG’s steam and wash-arm features are not proof that every load will clean better than a Bosch. Likewise, Bosch’s drying claim should not be treated as a controlled result against this particular LG.
Where Reviewed discusses the Bosch SHP78CM5N, we attribute its findings. Do not transfer a test of an LG LDTH model to LDPH7972S simply because the numbers look similar. Exact letters matter.
Compare the everyday interface
Look at how the racks adjust, where utensils go and whether your tall glasses fit in the preferred arrangement. Check control access, cycle indication and which settings require each brand’s connected service.
Ask local service providers about both exact models. Warranty wording may distinguish general coverage from a longer component warranty; the latter is not automatically whole-appliance parts-and-labour coverage.
Which would we choose?
Start with Bosch SHP65DM5N for our broad-use feature balance. Compare SHP78CM5N when drying is the upgrade you want. Choose LG LDPH7972S when its rack, steam and drying package fits your dishes and its installed quote and local support are convincing. That is a use-case decision, not an unsupported reliability league table.
